Power Estimate

Hi, I am just wanting oppinions on roughly what power the engien of the spec below will make:
    Standard VTR bottom end
    Stage 3 Head
    Pipr 270 Cam
    Vernier Pulley
    Bogg Brothers Inlet
    R6 Carbs
    ITG sock filters
    4 into 1 manifold
    Single box magnex exhaust
    Thanks and all oppinions apprecticiated.
BTW it will be set up professionally on a rolling road.

What has been done to the inlet? ( How are we meant to know what Bogg brothers is? )
What has been done to the head? ( how are we meant to know what a "stage 3" is? )

I can rally say without knowing what has been done to the above.

But probably around 130bhp ( if its the 98bhp VTR )

bogg brothers is the inlet manifold that the throttle bodies bolt onto via flanges

I want what you are smoking. Its very rare to see an 8v over 140 tbh.

the 270 is a mild cam aswell.

He said he had throttle bodies aswell? well he said carbs but i think he means TBs. And who knows whats going on with the head and inlet. It was only a rough estimate anyway.

    What would you say?

if you go onto the rallye register forum, a couple of guys on there are runing this sort of spec on there s2 8v, but with a wilder cam i would suspect to get better gains having bike carbs. That will give you a ruff idea of what to estimate from your engine spec mate.

TBs dont give massive gains, its the ability to run wild cams which Tbs give which give the power.

Tbs alone give better throttle response and midrange torque as a general rule of thumb and on bad inlet manifold design will give good power, but TU inlet manifolds are quite good.

As I said 140bhp ish/max due to the 270 being a mild cam.

Theres no forged pistons etc etc.... its not a big spec.

agreed may get more power from differnt internals, messing with compression etc.....

i wouldnt go any further than saying 120-130max r6 carbs arent amazing and the cam is mild soo 30bhp increase i think is fair to say with those mods

the only way you'll see around 150 bhp or over on a 8v silvertop vtr with bodies etc is if you've got some good head work, some guys are paying 800 quid to qep to do there head and that see's them around 150 bhp.

thts with k1 gsxr 1000 throttle bodies, wild cam(280 duration), standalone and a qep head along with the usual breathing mods. ow and a good condition engine to start with
