VTR Head Mods??

    Hi guys

    ive decided in the future im goin to get a newman ph3 cam for the vtr now i was woundering what i could do to the head to knock the proformance up abit more. by the time i get the cam done ill have a 4-2-1 S/Steel exhaust and after market induction kit fitted.

    so on the mini we have had the head skimmed to give max compression, Can i do this on the saxo and by how many thou?

    we also put bigger valves in had the valve seats re-cut, again is this possible on the saxo? would i need to have the block ported? and what valves should i use?

    and more ideas for what i could do would be help and would give me something to think about eventually far in the future it will be turbo'd and i dont really wanna go 16v coz that would be to easy lol

    And as far as i know you can skim the head, not sure by how much and most head woek that can be carried out on other cars can also be done on the saxo.

    106 rallye inlet?

    or just the whole rallye head i think someone has done it before.

    then cam that.

    why skim the head?

    for the minor improvement in the compression ratio you risk totalling a head if in furute it warps due to HG failure, imo you shouldnt be skimming heads unless they need to be done, espec if its an expensive head with uprated valves, modified ports etc..

    skimming fucked my head up unnessary skimming takes the hardened layer off it causing HG failure.

    okay so i can skim the head but im best of not doing okay i got it, now what about valves there ports uprated springs so on and so forth any input?

    QEP can supply parts if you plan on doing it yourself I should expect.

    ye i dunno why people thin uneccesarily skimming there head helps.
