90bhp engines went to 120...it makes no difference really not even a 98bhp saxo will see the good side of 120

Some of the VTR's have 120mph, some have 140mph..

Mine has seen 130mph on the clocks at the Nurburgring so the 140mph ones are useful..

iirc all the later saxo's 2001 onwards have the 140mph clocks fitted, I had a 2003 plate 1.1 desire and the clocks on that went upto 140. The earlier models pre 2001 bar the VTS are fitted with 120mph clocks.

vtrs will hit over 120 on the clock (although in reality theyre not doing that speed because of being 10% out) but ive had my vtr to 123mph on the clocks (legally) so its more than doable

Mines an R Reg, shows 130mph, but then has the extra two notches which show 135mph and 140mph.

Yes they do, I know a guy with a conviction that proves even 90bhp R's will see the good side of 120

They will, but as they are 10% out, it probaly won't actually be 120mph. Not far off though.

A police calculated 124mph over 2 miles not good enough evidence then?

its not the speed of the engine tht deterimes top speed its the gbox,

citroen desighned the vtr with 120 mph as top speed, which is where the cars bouncing on the limiter, vtr is the longest box in the TU range therefor you wont find a standard saxo tht will go over 120.. most vtrs now are higher millage and struggle to get to the limiter in 5th!

i have a furio and vtr both on a W plate and the furio has 140 were the vtr only 120... plus furio had cat in mani vtr under the car, furio paper style oil filter vtr the metal cylinder type... so is Wreg split between a certain few months in 2000 where the earlier models had less on clock, diff cat ect?

MK2 Phase 1 VTRs went to 120 90bhp and MK2 phase 2 VTRs went to 140 98bhp. Mine goes to 140 being a phase 2 MK2. Haven't done it yet, but it'll piss on it as i've had it remapped, an air induction kit and a Hornet Sports performance exhaust kit fitted.
