#5they arnt actually legal mate the site will tell you they are because they arnt based in the uk, the law changed in november stating that it is illegal to make/sell show number plates which is exactly what french plates are, any number plate supplier in the uk making them is braking the law and risks a £5000 fine
-
#6that must be their way of getting around the new legistrationQuote:
Due to British number Plate Law changing on the 1st of Novemeber 2008, all our plates are now shipped from the Republic of Ireland (Co.Wexford), this means your order WILL take longer to arrive! (please allow between 4-12 working days) -
#7anyone lend me a hand with the pressed legal plates off craigsplates.com?
Where is the link to them?
-
#8show number plates are now illegal? hmm thats anoying, wonderd why this show number plate shop near to where i live is never open, used to get them little tiny ones for my 125bike.

#10This gets asked so many times..
The only plates now legal in the UK are plates with the standard font, legal background, must have an address underneath of where the plates are from and the only logos aloud are the GB logo

People say they havn't been stopped and have had them for ages.. they will eventually be stopped when a traffic cop who knows what's what spots it. Then it's an on the spot £30 fine1 user thanked this post: -
#11So the Dubmeister ones are illegal too?
http://www.dubmeister.co.uk/
even though they say "Yes! These are legal on the UK Road!" -
#12I dont get why there illegal, spoil all the fun the police do lol
-
#13I don't know about them, but have just seen this while searching the websiteQuote:So the Dubmeister ones are illegal too?
http://www.dubmeister.co.uk/
even though they say "Yes! These are legal on the UK Road!"
if that's true then what ollsaxogti applies, they're still illegalQuote:Yes, unless you want plates without a UK registration, we have stopped making these as most will know...
However we're pleased to annnounce that our Show Plate site is now being run by a German company, and they can ship show plates world wide! Delivery is DIRECT from Germany, and only takes one more day, they are using a 2 day service by DPD to most European countries including the UK.
This is a genuine service not a 'cover up' or 'smoke screen' so if you want real made in Germany show plates, please give them a try! They can make all the varieties we used to do, plus more, and soon adding narrow FE font to allow more letters on plates!
Go to www.platemyride.com
The Dubmeister team
but not sure on them -
#14Pressed plates are legal providing they are the correct font, letter spacing, letter size and have a reflective background.
-
#15So would you say the Dubmeister GB ones are legal then?Quote:Pressed plates are legal providing they are the correct font, letter spacing, letter size and have a reflective background.
I can't see a website like that with local dealers that also sell show plates lie about legit plates?! -
#16cheers for the input mr.houston!
