Loud Bang!!!! Help

  1. #1
Hey guys was pulling into my local Asda went full lock into a parking space came off full lock then an ulmighty Bang noise from the NS wheel/suspension,

Today pulling outside my house pulled onto the drop kerb then off again and it happened again. its like a loud PING noise.

Anybody got an idea what it is?

Im not mechnically minded so any clues would help out

top of the strust seized and its the spring turning around is my bet!

top mounts have a roller bearing in them to let the top spring mount turn, take it out and clean and re grease it. or just buy a new one.

    Ditto above.

Saxo top mounts are prone to seizing!

How old is the car mate? If you're not mechanically minded then I'd have to say leave yourself plenty of time!!! Or take it to a garage. You're going to come across seized bolts and all sorts of pains in the fucking arse!

If you've got plenty of time then go for it mate.

If you're confident in ripping the strut off mate then go for it. But I'm not going to recommend you doing it yourself if you have no idea what goes where down there

edit: But if you do go for it then there will always be someone on here happy to help if you get stuck.

Well best of luck getting it sorted mate. It's not a huge job at the end of the day. But if you were to do it yourself with the car only on axle stands it will be a pain in the arse. Especially if you don't know what to expect.

If you're totally new to mechanics then a saxo is a great place to learn. Nice and simple. Start by servicing the car yourself Safe a shitload of money right there. Then do your own brakes and built up from there. That's all I've ever done mate.
