vtr rev limiter

   hi i have a saxo vtr
   i saw a vid on youtube of a vts going beyond the rev limiter and wondered if its possible to do on the vtr and how?

   then you have no need to breach the limit set for your car, as your car will be reaching peak power before you hit the limiter, what future plans you got in mind mate ?

   A quick alteration to the standard map could change the rev limiter. There's nothing to gain though, unless you're running an aftermarket cam which has shifted the power to higher in the range. 8V engines are more about low down torque - they start to feel asthmatic towards the limiter. Better off shifting up at just under 6k revs imo.
   
   Not a good idea to raise the limiter of silver top engines as the valve springs are very weak... rest of the engine is pretty strong though. Should be fine to raise the limiter of a black top without uprated valve springs.

   then i dont think thers any need for more revs mate, wast of money and petrol, also will course damage and you dont want to look a twat with all revs and no go

    I had a mate with a 205 1600 gti. Put some chip in it that took the limiter off completly it would go off the rev counter. Didnt have it for long after that, wouldnt recomend going much over the stock limiter if at all on stock internals.

    you will be lucky to see 5-10 hp with this. leave alone getting to 100hp in a furio.

    wow,well i beat a transit van off the line soz4owned,and you wont be the "king of the vtr drivers" for long,just give you a while and youll fuck your engine or crash
