Raising the rev limiter to 7800rpm - VTS

    Mattes,

    I need a chip to raise my rev limiter.

    I've got a piggyback to sttel things right on the rollers (dastek Unichip).
    Unfortnately it does not remove or change the rev limiter.

    My idea is to install a chip to raise it to 78000rpm and then configurate the piggyback.

    Any suggestions about the chip? I've found some of them at ebay UK, but most of all seemed a controller box.

    you cant raise the limiter with out a re-map, how much is it costing you for the dastek, fitting and mapping ect.

    Do you really need to raise the limit though? Sometimes it isnt even worth it!

    In a near future I intend to cam the car.

    So with the machined cylinder head, 4x1 and 2,25" exhaust, CAI and dastek piggyback fitted AND CAMMED for sure I'll need more rpm...

    I'm just antecipating it!

    Yes I do know I need to remap the ECU to raise the rev limiter.

    Any suggestions for a good recommended chip?

    i thought VTS's were rev limit at 7800rpm anyways! vtr were at 6200rpm

    VTS Limit is 7250. Why don't you just wait until the cams are fitted because it will need mapping then anyways?

    unlocked standard vts ecu will have no rev limiter lol

    Here in Brazil fitted on the rollers, it costs around 700 euros (used one).

    If I do see good gains before fitting the cams I'll leave them behind.

    i cant see the point honestly. get the cams fitted, get the ecu mapped for the cams and set up for best performance over the rev range. forget all this chip idea

    who told you that? that would mean when it was unlocked someone writes a never ending map for it.

    that isnt true at all because mine is unlocked and it limits at 7500rpm mate

    No point, as the power will start to get less towards the top end unless you fit an anftermarket cam, so thers no point really.

    Might want to read that camms are planned to be fitted then

    personaly id look into stand alone, dont know how much they cost there but it would be better than dastek and standard ecu re-map

    For the ones who said there is no point:

    Actually I will not remap the car by the chip with the cams fitted.

    The Dastek piggyback will! But it does not raise the rev limiter.

    That´s why I need to raise my rev limiter, no matter the paramethers the chip wiil bring. Just wanna it fitted to raise my rev limiter.

    Then I will go the the rollers to fit all the fuel maps, igniton curves ON THE ROLLERS by THE DASTEK PIGGYBACK.

    If I get a good result no cams will be fitted.

    But It would be glad for me to push 1ª to the 7800rpm and 2ª coming right away over 5500rpm.

    That´s the point!

    dastek unichips can raise rev limmit, i have had 2 different dastek's on my race car (an older one and a brand new unichip Q) and the people at the rolling road have been able to change my rev limmit though it, i have currently got my vtr set at 7500 rpm, with just standard ecu and dastek, no dodgy ebay chips lol

    id make sure the rolling road place you are going knows what they are talking about.

    Sure the dastek unichip removes or raises the rev limiter but only Q and Q+ models and these ones are not avaible here in Brazil.

    Mine is the the first version (similar to the perfect power one), which adjusts the ignition curves and fuel maps on the rollers.

    Just a pointer, on your original post u put 78000, thats seventy eight thousand rpm, thats nearly 4 times that of a F1 car, lol! Made me smile, lol!
