making rims deeper ??????

does anyone no if i could make the wheels iv got or take them somwere and they could make a dish on them like weld a new lip and make it deeper ? or if there is anyone on here who could ofer me that then how much

i doubt that can be done tbh. Your rim will be made so the tyre can be seated properly. welding a lip on wont give it a dish, your tyre will still be in the same place as where it is now and there fore not really dishedd.

i fort that if someone could weld anorther half of wheel of just under half of wheel onto the front of it then grind the inside smooth and paint same coulour as rim then get a tire strecthed over to the new lip , would that work ?

Have you seen a wheel with no tyre on?

Theyres like a ridge that the tyre sits on. Youd be chopping your rim in half then welding it to another half of a wheel lol. It wouldnt work and would be weak.

Be cheaper to buy dished rims tbh lol

If they're proper split rims then on some, like BBS wheels, you can get a bigger dish to attach to them but I can't really tell if yours are actually split rims or replicas and you've not even told us what wheels they are.

i borught them off bondie on here and i think they am split rims cus were the bolts am on them on the back of the wheel there is tiny holes so i was thinking getting cutting the middle out and moving them back and welding them back on ? would that work ?

Mille Miglia 15" Split Rim Alloys

if its a split rim you can undo all those little bolts and buy new dishes for the front

also welding a lip on an alloy is a no no
the softer material will be very weak and may just separate whilst driving

you can band a steelie as there stronger

cud i cut the steelie centres out and the centres of mine and put the centres of mine into the steelies but also extend the steelies ?

you cant weld an extra peice into an alloy

especially steel to alloy as there two different materials

i think if you want wider wheels you need new ones as it sounds like there not a split rim as you say

Alloy to steel is a no no! Stop try to get the cheap way out!

As said u can't weld alloy to steel, alloy welding is very expensive and I doubt anyone would band a alloy wheel for you, as there's to much liabilitiy (sp) on there behalf, u cant re centre them either. U can do both with steel wheels but not with alloys, unless as stated there really 2/3 piece split rims and not 1 piece replicas. The new centre will be about £300 if u can get hold of the right ones ur after
