what can i do next

as the title says just wondered if there is anything else that i can do engine and performance wise also not looking into turbo or supercharging.

here is what i have done so far

bmc cda induction kit
janspeed 4 - 1 manifold with sports cat
straight through centre pipe with 3.5 " back box
T / B port and polished
kent pt40 fast road sport cams with vernier power pulley
head skimmed

also i am getting it re mapped next.

Throttle bodies? turbo? supercharger? strip it out? composite panels?

sort your suspension out?
sort your brakes out?

only just had cams fitted last month mate so dropping i vts lump in would mean my cams wouldnt be compatable with the vts.
surely with what ive done so far my vtr must either be the same or very close to a standard vts.

Stop later and quicker, plus handle better.

But on your engine you've kind of reached a limit without spending big money. And if you're baulking at £1k+ then you've def reached your limit really.

Maybe flywheel, rallye inlet?

Look into some fibreglass panels, or carbon fibre if you can afford.

i would have to say that after its been re mapped if its not pushing at least 120bhp or a little over i would be very dissapointed with it lol

I drove a Saxo with a quick shift and though it was shit. The time I gained with a shorter throw was lost by it being harder to put into gear.

What about an S1/ S2 rallye gearbox? Should improve acceleration but top speed and fuel consumption when cruising will suffer.

TonyA - very true mate, what ive done so far each part as been below the 500.00 mark so there all in the hundreds so just wondered if there were anything else within the sort of prices ive spent so far.

Mate your VTR is the 98bhp model yes? i think it coudl be around 120bhp mark, let us know of the RR results!

my car has the worst map on it known to man, the map actuallt caused it to lose 8 bhp!!! and no mate thats at fly

what was wrong with the map? I suspect that the fueling was all over the place, going from lean/rich at random intervals.

Have they given the full money back or just said they will remap the car again.

full money back mate and they have advanced my ignition by 8 degrees which is a daft amount!!!

its now booked in at chip wizards for the end of april so happy days

according to ricky the timing was fine, its off to chip wizards to get mapped up properly so i cant wait for the, he mapped my mates to 162@fly

probs have your head ported and polished and have oversized valves, forged pistons, lightened crankshaft and flywheel, s1 rallye gearbox.Bored out, oversized pistons.......................... the list goes on forever...........

wayne has never mapped it my car mate. we have ben down to see him and my car is booked in to get mapped by wayne at the end of april. ill keep you updated on it ans ill let you no what it puts out
