VTR or VTS - how do the stats add up?

   Right, I know the VTR is 1.6 8v, and the VTS is 1.6 16v. I had a little race with a VTR in my VTS the other day.
   
   I've got quad electrode bosch plugs in, yet I seemed to be level with him, just managed to get past when we got above 80 - I was surprised how even we seemed to be!!!!
   
   Call me stupid, but I guess thats to be expected.
   
   I thought the 16v might would get me off the line much quicker. But to be fair I didn't do a balls out full on start and he did..

   If properly driven and both cars are standard with someone driving one and a clone of that someone driving the other the vts will eat the vtr for dinner mate.
   
   Your bosch plugs wont make the difference between beating him or not either, the 16v should of done that.
   
   Should of eaten him, not on a public road though

   It might have been a case of badge engineering. I want to get some standard model badges - to make it look like a bog standard one, to show up those boy racers

    i had a little problem with my mates vtr, and then the yesterday realised my accelerater cable had come slack and the clip had come off.
    
    is yours reving up like it should because this is what problem i had and its turned out to be the accelerater cable(ill fuck his vtr over now its fixed) but check yours is this a commen fault at all but it really has made a huge difference now its how it should be from slugish but not being detectable till you have a play because its still nippyish to ripping up the road again and you realise you hadnt got used to the power it really wasnt as fast?????

    30bhp difference between the two do the maths identical chasis and handling setups, vts will eat a vtr up when driven properly and in good working order

    Well when i went to donnington in my mk2 VTR (slightly stripped) with C8James in his mk1 VTS (Fully clothed)
    
    I went home and bought a VTS engine. nuff said.

    VTS 0 - 60 7.4ish
    
    9.8 + 7.4 = 17.2

    I took my VTR to snetterton and tailed a VTS for a couple of laps until he yeilded and moved out the way. However by the end of the day the guy had got some driving tuition from a pro and more experience and confidence of the track, my car had a little problem and I couldn't keep up. The VTS in the right hands is quite a bit quicker but it's not as huge as some would like to think.

    when was the last time yours had a service???
    People allways underestimate a well serviced car, mine is a totally standard VTS and the cats held together with exhaust paste and it made 124.9bhp on the rollers because its well maintained
