mk1 headlights colour coding Q (with pics)

   I have taken off my lights and melted the glue as you do anyway now because I can't find the guide for mk1 headlights... Do I take out this chrome bit and spray it? will it be ok for the MOT alot of people are saying that you need it reflective?
   
   If you do take it out and spray it how the clunge im having trouble unclipping it?

   you only spray the bit in the 2nd picture
