cambelt whine

   hi. sorry if this has been asked before
   
   i changed my head gasket the other day and of corse i had to take of the cambelt off to do it. since ive put all the cambelt back together there seems to b a whine coming from it when the engine gets hot. i have already loosened it but maybe not enough? if i let it cool for half hour or so it stops till its warm again.
   
   could it need warmin up and adjusted when the belt is hot maybe????
   
   ran the car with alternator belf of so i know its not that.
   
   any ideas would be great

   You're always supposed to do the belt with the engine cold. If it whines you probably did the tensioner up too tight.

   belt 2 tight or the nut on the tensioner?

   cold engine refit the belt and tighten it up so you can twist the belt 1/2 on its longest length
