standard airbox question????

my saxos running an open cone k and n which tbh i think is a bag of shit ive never liked k and n because ive always been able to feel flat spots when the engine gets hot and its sucking in warm air.

now ive heard the standard filters on these are designed quite well would it pay to stick a standard airbox on and slip in an itg panel filter would it perform better as ive heard good things about these standard boxs on the 106/saxos, or am i better off waiting till ive had everything sprayed and going for a bmc induction kit.

not too bothered about loosing sound performance is more important. could somone point me in the right direction. wheather it be 106/rallye/vts airbox thats best.

    cheers

would of thought best gains would be from a bmc or green filter or something similar, in the standard S box

just really interewsted to know whats better some shit kandn open filter sucking in hot air badly or a standard vts filter with a decent panel filter.

IMO my car felt a lot better with the standard airbox, with a panel filter (I've got green) and the boxes/tubing removed after it. I think the car just 'felt' better than with the green enclosed and bmc on - havnt compared them on the rollers though

The standard VTS airbox does get a lot of praise and is a well made bit of kit. If you're being really picky, a K&N panel filter performed better than an ITG panel filter: http://www.106rallyeforum.com/forum2...ad.php?t=20216

on my vtr iv got the standard box and a streight cold air feed into the bottom intake, but left open at the top for noise. sounds good and seem's to preform well to
