Saxo VTS + C2 (125hp) headgasket + CATCams 715 -> is it possible?

  1. #1
    Hi!
A friend of mine has got an Saxo with port polished headwork and thne c2 (vts here in portugal) headgasket!

Now he got catcams 715 but he is afraid that the valves get to the pistons because he got the headgasket thinner!

Does anyone know if is it possible to run with this setup? someone told him that tryed to "turn" the engina manually and everything seems fine, but when get the road the valves touched the pistons and....you know...became very expensive repair!

    Thank you!

BTW: running this head gasket with wossner gr.A pinstons is possible or the compression rate will be excessive?

    Thank you!

    Regards from Portugal!

just have to rotate the engine and feel for any contact. i would get a slightly thicker headgasket with the group A's

Have a look at this thread:

It looks like you Portuagese like 715's!

Not entirely sure if there is a clearance issue, but it's been proven that the 708's are a better cam anyway.

have you got the specs for the lift of the cam etc?

are these 715's for the j4 head or the jp4?

The 715 is for the saxo vts, here in portugal a lot of people use them with internal components.
The main question it's about the thinner headgasket. we are afraid that the gap between the valves and the piston is not enougth to run with this headgasket + 715.

We are looking for someone that have tried this setup!

In portugal we use a lot the C2 125hp headgasket to raise compression but usually people that run with this setup uses Std Camshaft.

Thank you, anyway when we get to a solution i'll post here!

    Regards!
