Seat pre-tensioners

Nearly got myself some half leather air bagged 106 gti interior for £200 only thing is that they don't have pre-tensioners. Can I use the ones that are on my Saxo vtr at the minute? And are they east to fit? And will the airbags work? Thanks in advance

i think you can use the old pretensioners, for the air bags unless you have the clip under the seat they wont work with out rewireing them, i just left it when i had them in my westie

yea mate you can also the airbags need wiring in i put a vts airbaged interior in my vtr and the airbag light is on the clips are plugged in under the seats just the airbags are completeingthe circuit due to the wire been cut

The pretensioners is piss easy just pull your old ones off with a 17mm socket and whack them on the leather subframes same way they came off them its just plug and play mate. Wise idea to leave your ignition off while swapping pre-tensioners to avoid the airbag light coming on. It wi'll go off again after a while but gets abit annoying.

So if I plug it in with the ignition switched off it will prevent the airbag light coming on? Do I have to disconect the battery when doing this?
