106 GTI Lower coolant hose - help

  1. #1
Just removed the standard bottom hose to replace with a samco one but upon removal noticed they are totally different hoses as you can see

These are from samco direct . Surely this isnt the right part?

Any thoughts? Anyone had this problem?

    Worth a shot.

Looks like they have sent you either a saxo hose or a pre-facelift version.

An earlier type housing should do the trick, just make sure you wont have troubles with the secondary "bike valve" hose using the same inlet/outlet position.

had this problem with my spoox coolant kit m8.. they sent me it in 2 sections but no connector pipe i was like wtf.. so ordered a repair section of exhaust in stainless steel and made a connector pipe joined the 2 2geva then jubilee'd them no leaks so far and its a nice fit iirc the diameter pipe we used was around 30-32mm

Cheers mate - if i cant get hold of this earlier bracket i will prob cut it and use a hose joiner to connect to two - Hope Alex might have something.....

Also just thinking anyone able to access service box and bring up the part i need?

Part number for the housing according to citroen service is 1201 59 that is using a mk1 vts vin number.

Worthwhile checking with citroen when you get it to make sure though.

It wont fit, the mk1 and mk2 coolant hose routing is different for that pipe, as i remember it the samco hose you have there is the mk1 variety and the black hose is from a mk2 engine (could be the other way round though).

Was a pain in the ass when i had to have the hose replaced & turned up with a 2nd hand replacement from the wrong model. Citroen took £90 from me for a new standard replacement hose too!
