  1. #1
£300 for live map sound about right? or can go 235 for superchip jokes
  2. #2
do they adjust cam timing? ive seen some of there cars that they have worked on (200 plus bhp corsa bs) so ive heard good things about them.
  3. #3
i believe they do well ive just ordered my cams from kam so should be looking to book it in late next week seems a fair price for the rep they have

its a very good price if they adjust your cam timing and run an emulator on your ecu. (they have to to do this to map it properly unless they have a massive bank of generic maps made up which they can use, run, then tweak, then run again)
  5. #5
    Wherabouts are they based?
  6. #6
i dont believe they do it via generic because i have a friend that went said it took nearly 6hrs to get it running sweet think i will give them a try and let you know how it goes

they will have taken the ecu to bits and found out how to get into it properly then ran an emulator on it and happy days!!! (the correct way)

very good very good what gains am i looking at with cda induction decat janspeed system piper 4-1 manifold catcam 708's final rolling road bhp?
  11. #11
    with the remap aswell lol
  12. #12
    Dont they use Wayne?

    Call up Chipwizards instead imo.
  13. #13
wayne used to map for them. not naymore though, they have their own mapper now iirc.
  14. #14
If your from north of birmingham id go to wayne at chipwizards.
  15. #15
i would rather get the predator ecu.
  16. #16
    Farry1998,

I make the Predator mappable ECU, it's a plug and play replacement ECU, so you can adjust it infinitely!

There is a group buy on at the moment. I can fit and time cams, and then map it for you. I've been getting some good results recently, so take a look...

found out today that wayne used to do the mapping for them but they owe him some cash so he doesnt do it anymore. BTW they dont have the proper software to get into the ecus corrctly
  19. #19
so chipwizards ftw? where is he based? thanks
  20. #20

  21. #21
right tried ringing chipwizards today and they seem abit dodgy to me phone goes straight to answer machine is it a proper bussiness or someone that does it on the side? abit weary about them tbh hmmm
  22. #22
i was there yesterday, he is very busy at the min and he doesnt hear his phone go off so your better off txting him
  23. #23
its a landline number i have which i got off chipwizards.com does he have a mobile? thank
  24. #24
Farry what are you doing to the engine to warrant a remap? what are your future plans, as in most cases if people have future plans, standalone is a much much better option to have than a basic ecu map
  25. #25
Wayne used to do his maps from Jamsport a few moons back
  26. #26
Think Jamsport have got a new team now. Heard very good things about them latley

Have heard alot aswell about their reputation changing.
  28. #28
just for the min ive got manifold decat cda induction straight thru exhaust order my catcams so looking for a remap on the cams to work properly not sure about what i want to do dont want to have a pipe dream of throttlebodies and superchargers so just cams at min stand alone ecus worry me as i dont overly know too much about cars and dont think i would benifit from one if jamsport still has good rep think ill go there
  29. #29
if you are wanting throttle bodies BUY a standalone first, then get it mapped on that with the catcams, then get the map tweeked if you go bodies.

A much better option, espec with how cheap andy (luthors pnp) ecu is.

At the price of his ecu i really dont see why people want an OE remap these days, especially when if they come to sell the car they can sell the cams and ecu on and still have an OE ecu to run the car.

It's difficult, Ryan, to prove to people that expensive isn't better, and cheaper certainly doesn't mean useless!!

I still offer the free 'taster' for customers. If they show a REAL interest, they can come down and I'll fit it and they can have a run about with it with me on a "close but not fully optimised" basemap. I've got a few now, so I can get it running well in about 10minutes. I'll demo the ECU to them for free basically on their own car

Andy, all in with mapping, how much does your Predator actualy cost?

Last i heard, Wayne was charging £400-£450 for a remap
  32. #32
what are common faults with the ecu wudnt want it to die on me or isnt there any can he map and time my cams for me if i buy one? i want the best i can out of my car with reliable power, luthors ecu is sound more and more tempting!

Ask andy himself. From what it seems if the ecu develops a fault andy wont just tell you to fuck off.

There are a few owners on here who you can ask for direct feedback from if you wish to discuss it with them and not andy direct.

if andys ecu does die its alot cheaper to replace than a mapped OE ecu thats for sure, unless any mappers are now doing deals that if the ecu shits itself they will map it again for free.

Andys isnt the only option though, you have omex, Emerald etc etc... Just for a saxo the PNP is the most affordable system.
  34. #34
think i will have a shot in the dark and buy one then there is alot of info and friendly people on this site that would surely help with any problems i come across, does sound very good value for money for a new ecu and map and the thought of been able to add throttlebodies enlightens me lol let do it!!
  35. #35
If my ECU shits itself, send it back and I'll send you another with YOUR own map already on it. Simple as.

My ECU's are £495 fitted and mapped.

For other opinios pm MR_X, ManC, DannyHall, RafKev, Mystic....
EDIT: Raf_Kev had an issue with his, basically it had some parts missing from when my old distributor fitted it, he sent it back, I just repaired and replaced parts as necessary and sent it straight back!

I also fitted one to Raunchz's car when he came over, just took 10minutes to plug in and calibrate the TPS, that was it!

my cams should be here some time this week and fitted early next week do i have to wait for the group buy to finish or can i cone down as soon as im ready? and get ir donw there and then? thank you for all your help
  37. #37
sorry for spelling mistakes useing my phone internet lol
  38. #38
    Hi there,

you don't have to wait until the group buy has FILLED UP, but you need to wait until the order for them from the PCB manufacturer arrives, so should be 2-3 weeks!

Woud you like me to put your name down on the Group Buy? If so goto this thread and say you want IN!!

    http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=216905

    Kind regards
    Andy
  39. #39
this should be fine as ill have more time to get things sorted then yes could you please put my name down and i will go to thread and confirm. once ecus are here and i have cams fitted okay to drive down and get it fitted and timed by you correct? thank you again
  40. #40
I can fit and time your cams for £120 mate. You'll provide the belt/pulleys whatever, but I'll do it for £120 labour.

    Andy
  41. #41
everything will be fitted to the car will just need the ecu putting in and up and running so 620 yes?
  42. #42
or do you mean 120 for fitting the cams aswell? sorry easily confused lol
  43. #43
    £620?

The ECU is £495 fitted and mapped, the cams I *could* fit for £120 if you like, but that's up to you!

If you'd like me to swing the cams round while you're at mine, that'd be £40 to do.

But if you just want the ECU fitting and mapping - £495

    Kind regards
    Andy
  44. #44
ahhh i get you now well if you could fit the cams that would be alot easier and then fit the ecu while im that would be amazing so 620 for cams fitting and ecu plus correct map yea? what do u mean swing cams around? thank you
  45. #45
"Swinging the cams round" basically when we drive it, you can choose to have a bit more power at the top end or a bit more torque in the midde, and that requires a litte fiddling with the timing!

Your price for the ECU and Cams fitted and timed and mapped will be £615
  46. #46
spot on have to let me know when the ecus will be ordered and can arrange a day to come down only four hours away but be worth it when its done lol thanks again
