Best option for "zooooooom"

  1. #1
Okay so i want to do something to my engine to make it pull faster and have higher top end etc. its a vtr engine and i really dont want to do a swap. I heard that if i put a turbo on and run around 7psi itl be fast but i wont have to get bigger pistons etc and it wont wreck the engine (seems too good to be true really) then i thought about supercharging it but dont know what this would entale. I was going for fast road cams etc and a full re map but im not so sure anymore.

Advice, guides, any help really would be much appreciated, thanks

how much do you want to spend?
  3. #3
well im unsure about costs on anything and this will be a future thing so for now lets say, moneys no option (i could always save) lol
  4. #4
would you want to do it all in one go or do bits at a time?
  5. #5
im not sure. if the best option means to do it bit by bit, then il happily do that. but i want the car stilla ble to run etc and be usable whilst its getting done. or if the better option is to do it all at once then i can have something to save for and do that.

if you wanted to go n/a tuning, you can do it in steps, it gets harder with boosted, although tbh, if you wanted a big spec, it would be better to save up and get it all done in one go, whether its boosted or n/a.

if you want to be shoved back in your seat, turbo is best, however its not as user friendly on track, and will get through gearboxes.

s/c is better on the transmission, as there's no sudden jerk of power - you'll go very very quick, but it wont feel as quick as turbo.

n/a is great if you dont want to spend too much, but if you want a big spec, then you'll have to spend big money, for a maximum of about 200bhp

200bhp spunds nice lol. so wat kind of spec list would that need??
  8. #8
200 bhp n/a will need new internals, cams, springs, solid followers, throttle bodies, standalone as basics

200 forced may not need the internals, although it would be advisable as you'll want more
the head could stay the same, but theres plenty of other parts which would be required.

    as a guestimate, 200 n/a would be 8-10k, 200 forced would be about 5-6k

jeeees. maybe il go a lil less than 200brake lol i think my limit is 2k. i wouldnt feel good spendin more than that haha

Sell Saxo and buy something that's already got the ponies.

    VTS

Same sort of car, more powah... then when you need more you can cam it etc.

if its only 2k you've got, then realistically you're looking about 160 brake n/a - but you'd have to convert to vts

hmmm was thinking that too but i really like my car too much to part yet haha
  15. #15
chuck a vts engine in then
