40 quid to lower torsion bars is a bit of a joke tbh man
williams vts is about the only guy who will do it that cheap and i think hes miles away from you

williamsvts is right up in the far north.

Id be surprised if theres anyone else willing to do it so cheap. Theres potentially alot of hours work unvolved depending on condition of parts and in particular torsion bars willingness to shift.

Be careful who you get it done by and check which method is being used before going through with it

what is the right way for it to be done ?
just i can get it done for £50 what do you think?

pull the bar out and measure is the right way
if they say click or notch or spline walk away

£50 if its from a garage is almost too cheap. Theres so many factors that could turn it into a lengthy job (when done correctly) that most garages will either not want to do it or will charge stupid prices/

The incorrect way rather than take out the torsion bars, adjust the ride height accordingly and reinsert the torsion bars, instead consists of just whacking off the trailing arm disturbing the bearings and seals (risking untold damage both immediately and in the long run) lifting it up and whacking it back on.

Obviously the latter method is quicker but less accurate and less friendly to internal parts. alot of garages use it as its a quick buck for them without really taking into consideration looking after your car.

i paid 35 to have mine done, the proper way too so im stupidly happy with it! and im down on bumpstops
it is easy enough to do yourself if you got patience.. after 3 months of WD and duc oiling my bars and only manageing to get one out, i took it to a local garage *i guess it was so cheap because id done half of it already*

    either way
good luck with having it done dude, but go too lo and your ride will be fucking horrid! i dont need anything practical and the ladyfriend doesnt seem to mind the ride either, but going so low and it handles like a bag of shit and with the 1.1 seats its going to kill your ass and back if you have too many bumps in your area!

You do know that sitting actually on the bump stops is an MOT failure right?

yup but when i get to MOT my own car, i dont have the worry of it failing. so its not too bad.
other than that, and a massive kurb in my wheel, nothing else is actually wrong with it

thats a bit dodgy though as explained in the other thread its a failiuer for a reason man

and saying you fraudulently pass your own car on the internet probably isnt the best idea
