suspension coils touching

    I have the front of my car lowered a 3-4 months ago and for the past coupld months iv heard a weird knocking noise coming from both front wheels/strut area. I only have springs at the moment so i though it might be the dampers but then i took the wheel off and found that the bottom three coils are sitting on each other and the paint has been worn away.




    Is there away around this or are they just cheap springs that need upgrading?

    They look like progressive rate springs to me, if that is the case then it is perfectly normal for them to touch like that.

    What sort of springs? My Spax had this problem, ended up wrapping the top and bottom two coils of the springs in hose pipe. Will raise the car a little though.

    Its hard to tell but they do look like there going all the way to the top pan when unloaded and when loaded its normal for a few coils close up with most lowering springs. So the springs look fine
