Fitting new headlights

  1. #1
    Hi,
just wondering how hard it is to fit new headlights basically...my girlfriend showed me some smoked ones on ebay which look nice, and would suit my black car

also, does anyone have any pics of smoked headlights on a black saxo?

    thanks

You can smoke your standard headlights mate. The mk2's look excellent and all you need is a bit of black spray paint. There are plenty of pics around here. Mine are on a silver car and I have no pics. lolz

you need to take the front bumper off(4 bolts) and then there r 3 bolts holding each light unit on, then u just simply disconnect the wiring and they pull off

You don't need to take the bumper off. It's just a bit of a fiddle/tight squeeze if you don't.

As far as I am aware the ECE approval refers to the reflector, lense, base plate and bulb type used. I don't recall seeing any mention of any faceings or surrounds so i would guess there free to do with what you like? You would have to inform any alteration to your insurance company though.

PS looking at the ebay link I would actually be very suspect about these lights purely because there unbranded. Its become a bit of a epidemic of parts coming from the east with fake or totally erelevant marking on them.
