Hi I'm buying a Citroen Saxo 1.6i VTR and am thinking about getting some alloys for it. What size alloys looks best on a Saxo e.g. 15inch, 17inch etc?
What size alloys are best for a saxo?

#214 and 15 inch come standard and normally fit fine, any bigger and some modifications might need to be made to prevent rubbing
-
#315" is the best size for a saxo imo
-
#4Personally I think 15's fit the best but it depends what look you're going for. Check out this thread: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=141903

#5Cool, looked at the thread and I like the look of the "16inch Tsw Catalunya". Would 16" fit Ok or would I need to mod the car?
-
#616s not lowerd to much wouldnt cause you any trouble .
-
#7Ok, thanks for the help.
-
#8Ive got 16's and im lowered 40mm and i have no problems at all.
You just have to make sure you get 40 profile tyres and not 45 profile tyres. 45 profile tyres would rub, but 40 doesnt. -
#915's personally.
-
#10No more than 15 at the most anything else looks stupid or like a tractor
-
#1115's looks best mate in my opinion.
-
#13There are some exceptions yours being one
-
#14I'll make an exception for you Nick lol, Anything bigger than 16's is WELL OTT.

#15Quote:I'll make an exception for you Nick lol, Anything bigger than 16's is WELL OTT.
thanks lol. I think on some saxos 15's look better, but others 16's.
I think the tyre profile makes a difference as well. 16's with a tyre profile bigger than 40 look a bit more stupid as it makes the wheel seem big.
But same with 15's, 15's with hench tyres look daft. also 15's sometimes can look like you couldnt afford the slightly bigger wheels so had to settle with the smaller cheaper ones
-
#16would say 15" b fine
-
#17Yea i agree.. Had mine lowered 60mm with 40 profiles 16's and at the back i barely got my lil finger between the tyre and the inner wheel arch, not good as i took a chunk out of the wheel going over the mass speedbumps! So profile does matter as Nick said! So raisedQuote:Ive got 16's and im lowered 40mm and i have no problems at all.

20mm (40mm) and was perfect. Dont have any pics of 40mm though, cars a lil dirty atm.
60mm 16's 40 profile

#18i think 15's are less hassle but i do prefer 16's so i'd go for them if your just buying one, then you can lower it to your own preference when thinking about getting some new wheels
-
#19I'd say 15's cause they help to keep the saxo's good handling, but 16's can look damn sexy
-
#2015" are ideal.

#21sorry to jump in but didnt see the point in opening a new thread for a sililar question.
im now back to a saxo after an astra
this one has 17's with a bodykit..
my problem being, 1- the rears rub when even a fly is in the back 2- to do a turn in the road takes about 40 turns to get round ! 3-looks a bit high and with the rubbing i thought lowering more was out of the question? idealy i guess smaller wheels would be a good idea but dont want the wheels to then look small against having the bodykit ...
any advise/opinions would be great everyone
