Powder Coating is it worth it.

   i was goin to spray my vts wheels white but i hear about powder coating. there is a place near by that does them but i want to know how much better it would be and wat is an average price aswell.

   i think powder coating looks nice if its done correctly but i dont think there is much difference in price

   Mixed opinions,
   
   Some say it causes the wheels to crack / explode as they are not meant to be heated like they are when coated! Others prefer the finish.
   
   Also, the colours are never as good.

   In my experience never powdercoat and thats not because I spray it because the air in the alloy expands when heated and can cause the alloy to crack.

   had a set done at local place £120 all in. was a great finish far better than spraying yourself. i think anyway

   a think powder coat is better its harder to scratch them and a better finish cant get runs like paint !

   most proper refurb companys powder coat....
   
   I personally would have that, with a full strip down and balancing than someones rattle can with the tyres flat, it wont stop older porus wheels letting air out..
