Doesnt give much of a gain without cams aswell, so without cams its a bit pointless imo

Just start with the basics pal. Airfilter (BMC/PiperX), then work on f/b exhaust. Is this your first car?
  12. #12
yes its my first car, what is fb exhaust m8?
  13. #13

    fb = fanimold back? lol

erm i think it could have been c/b but hit the f button indstead maybe
but ive not heard that one before either, if it is one

but in relation to the thread, if your a newbie to this, as mentioned above, start with basics, like airfilter, take a look at kamracing, they have a good range, may give you an idea of what sort of inductions are about, erm then exhaust, can be either catback, or decat, also a uprated manifold would go nicely with this too

then from there it starts to get expensive mate
  15. #15
thanx so much for ur help people,i better start savin up then eh? lol
  16. #16
    erm yer lol

well for a decent manifold and exhaust your probs looking at around 500 i think, depending on what makes etc you go with

then to cam the vtr inc a remap, your probs looking at around 1k, and if your going to get them fitted by some one, you should expect around 1200+

then after that your looking at bodies, turbo or supercharger
bodies would cost around 4-5k i think for a decent set up
and for turbo or supercharger i am unsure but i would suspect it be around 8k maybe more, but i havnt really looked at them much

so erm yer think you may need to start saving lol
  17. #17
lol that is alot of mny, anyway what is manifold and remap?
  18. #18
if its your first car then i would be more concerned about insurance.

If you have a VTR then i'm guessing its sky high at the moment, many insurance companies will simply refuse to insure you if you modify the car.

I would look at a decent enclosed induction and exhaust/manifold to start off with.

i also hope your doing brake and suspension if your looking at cams etc as it will need to handle the extra power

im sorry i should have told u from the start that im a complete newbie,i know nothing bout cams, manifold etc. its all new language to me lol

If cash is no problem give GMC a call. They will be happy to give you a engine with so much power that it will get fuel starvation when you plant your foot ass all the fuel will be pushed to the back of the tank. Then they can sell you a baffled sump and all the rest to go with it. Saxos that can run rings round Ferraris, Great fun

ahhhh makes sense, i thought it may have been something along the lines of that lol
  28. #28
Its just a shorter way of saying manifold, decat, exhaust.
  29. #29
    Air filter £80-£150
    Manifold £130-£200
    Decated Exhaust £200-£300
    Cams £300
    Remap £400-500

or Throttle bodies/ Bike Bodies for example
    Bike Bodies £100
    Manifold to fit £200
    connectors and joiners £100-£200
    Standalone ecu £500
Then have it mapped at around £400-£500

    hope this is clear
