yea mate,lol
Cheers for the help boys ive checked the fuses next 2 the battery they're all fine where's the starter cable n is the fuse for the starter with the others next to the battery?the battery seems fine and the terminals are all good, the starter usualy makes some sort of noise even if the battery is low but absolutely nuthin happens when you turn the key 2 start it all u hear is a click from inside the car down by the diagnostic port which i assume is a relay or sumthin which is normal but that's as far as it gets -
#13the click is the solenoid on the motor popping over
the battery is too low to turn the motor
give it a jump/charge and itll run -
#14try bumping it and then turn it of and try it again. some times works
-
#15it isn't the battery ive just tested the battery and its in good condition and got loads of charge, ive also bumped the car and it runs fine but turn it off and it just happens again, starter motor?
-
#16Have you tried jump starting it?
-
#17bumped started it and it worked? then switched off and didnt turn back over? = battery dead, or alternator isnt charging battery when idling.
-
#18How did you test the battery? What reading did you get?
-
#19if your turning engine off immediately it wont take any affect, give the car a gd run for the alternator to charge it.
-
#20smack the starter with a hammer while turning over?
-
#21yea i know u have 2 run it for a fair bit to charge and to be honest i only took it 2 the end of my road but the battery's definetely got good charge but when i turned it off, tried 2 start it.... nuthin. If u bump start it,it goes fine, jump start from another car or try starting it on its own power and nothing happens, all dash lights are on, all electrics work and u can hear the fuel pump prime but u turn the key 2 actualy start it and nuthin...wont make a sound or even attempt 2 start..so cant be alternator or battery?
-
#22wat readings you get off the battery?
-
#23If this helps m8, i had the same problem, my alternator cable had corroded away.
-
#24just under 15v when runnin n 12 when off
-
#25that not enough m8 to turn it over. wen you turn the it will drag so much out it will drop down to 9 and wont start. i have this problem alot at work
-
#26its fucked m8 , i'll give u £400 for it
-
#29get a new battery
-
#30starter solenoid
-
#31But it wont start even with a jump from another car?however bump start it and its fine, starter motor jammed or just fuked?the way it looks is that there is enough power in the battery but for some reason that power is either not getting to the starter motor or the starter motor is not working
-
#32starter solenoid?how do i check tht,i was waiting for someone who knows more than i do to suggest that
-
#33take the connectors of the starter motor and clean them up. Also test using a meter what feed your getting on the starter cables.
if the motor had gone the solenoid would still work and visa versa, very rare for both to go.
Check all earths ect.
If you can get the starter of connect to a battery to see if it spins. -
#34starter soliniod is mounted just to the side if the starter if u dont know what it is , give it a tap on the end with a hammer , then try starting it , it sumtimes frees it up , or sumtimes starting it in gear shocks the soliniodQuote:starter solenoid?how do i check tht,i was waiting for someone who knows more than i do to suggest that
and frees it

#40if its a clicking sound then its the battery, enough to power stuff but not enough to turn over
