Important! : Group buy: REAL carbon fibre number plates

  1. #1
ive been talking to streamline and carbonmods.co.uk and both will be able to offer us a group buy

    firstly streamline carbon

standard price is £49.99 a pair excluding postage

been offered £42 delivered if 10 people are genuinley interested
    pics:

(currently in discusson to see if the standard GB plate font would be available to people who want it)

    borrowed danny gti's image

    second carbonmods

    product page here

standard price is £45 excluding shipping

been offered 20% off for 10 people and 25% for 20 people

the reason i went to these also is because they do the number plates in the standard GB font and size etc (although they are not road legal) because with the police around here an illegal font wont last 10 minutes so personally i want to make it look standard as possible but this is just my preference

(im waiting for an email with 'real' images on)

just want to see what interest (if any) there is lol

I'd be interested in a plate with the proper font

Any chance of getting a cut down numberplate though as my one only has 4 digits XD?
  3. #3
    any of them road legal?
  4. #4
if you find any that are road legal im in
  5. #5
Although the size, lettering and reflective backing used in these plates match the official specification, the carbon fibre backing plate makes them not strictly road-legal and therefore they are sold for show use only.

^^^ as stated on that website
  7. #7
so its impossible to get 1 road legal because of the weave? how annoying

Danny's car always make me want to eat Sage and Onion. No idea why, never ever tried it tbh lol.

those plates would look awesome aswell
  11. #11
thats why i wanted to go for the standard font. it looks legal and i dont think an everyday MOT garage would be able to notice lol (unless they are very strict)

most places offer fake carbon road legal plates

if theres no interest ill just go ahead with my own purchase lol

    they look awesome peeps
  13. #13
im really interested in them, but if they arent road legal and i could get pulled for em then its just gonna be a pain in the arse
  14. #14
they need the manufacture on and postcode aswell to be legal, but doubt the police would notice that unless they where behind u in traffic at lights etc

demonplates.co.uk only offer road legal fonts etc. they offer 3D raised fake carbon for over £50 yes they have a postcode etc but how many coppers are gonna pull you for not having a postcode on your number plate. most older car's (road legal) number plates that were created before the new laws don't have the postcode and BS mark on them. police dont go around pulling these people. aslong as they have correct font and spacing its considered legal although technically it isnt :-S

all im saying is that its going to take one very stupidly picky officer to pull you for a plate that doesnt have a postcode on it. the font, spacing and reflection is all the same on the carbon mods ones its jsut that its not fully acryllic that makes it ever so slightly illegal

If they were made using legal text and font i doubt anyone would ever question them, especially the ones in the second picture they look almost standard.

My plates have all sorts of crap on them thats technically not supposed to be there like pictures up the sides, text underneath the reg and no postcode and never had ne problems.

So i wouldn't worry about the legal side too much unless you live in an area with uber strict cops or MOT centres.
