Hello guys, just wondering if i put a c2 vts engine in a saxo vts, are they the same gearbox as a saxo vts? also is it a straight swap engine wise? thanks
C2 vts gearbox

#2why what advantages is there with a c2
-
#3^ i dont uderstand why you would want to swap it?
-
#4C2 vts has 125bhp extra 5! lol. I'm thinking the real reason would have more to do with being able to get a lower milage one that hasn't been thrashed around is alot easier than sourcing a saxo vts one in the same condition....
-
#5good point so is it a straight swap
-
#6i always woundered weather it would be possible to fit a c2 vtr box onto a saxo and have the sequential box
-
#7c2 vts box will fit, but you'll need to bend the gear linkage....
-
#8i think you will find the c2 box uses hydrolic clucth and cable gear change so it would be a fair amount of work to do it..
would make for a good conversion as the casing is better quality so stronger. -
#9spare rebuilt vts motor in the shed the best way ..sitting there ready for doom day
-
#10do you know that for sure danny?Quote:i think you will find the c2 box uses hydrolic clucth and cable gear change so it would be a fair amount of work to do it..

as i had the 206 xsi box on my vts (not the same box but similar) -
#11not for sure. there may be a cut off point of the cable operated box's and hydrolic ones.Quote:do you know that for sure danny?

i know tam uses the later c2 vts box in his 240bhp ax due to the casing being stronger and the cable gearchange is much much easier going on the synchros and hydrolic clutch makes big heavy paddle clutches feel light. his box has been reliable for over 2 years and thats on slicks. -
#12could you fit a c2 vtr box onto say a saxo vtr then
-
#13yes that is the reason why, i want to get an engine that is low mileage, and not been thrashed, i shall speak to my dad tonight about this as he owns a gearbox company, and if it is possible i shall get a c2 vts box fitted and make the thread on what needs doing to fit one.
-
#14What are the ratios in the C2 boxes like? Same gearset as the Saxo S box, but a different final drive?
-
#15i think the ratio's are not much different from the saxo vts and the c2 vts
-
#16as danny says the c2 uses a hydro clutch therefore wouldnt fit without modifying the pedal box and m/c system. another thing to consider is that the c2 has a cable gear linkage system so the shifter system has to be converted like tams in his ax racecar.
