Cambelt Change?

    Just wondering what milage is best to change the cambelt on a vts - my car has done 60k now and not sure if the previous owner changed it or not.

    if your not sure if its been done id do it tbh, and 60,000 is around when they should be changed i think

    a garage will charge about £80+ parts usually.

    vtrs are easy to do.

    2 being about a induction kit?

    Its shown how to do it in the hayes manual isnt it ? i was going to do mine but didnt want to incase a i fooked it up

    sposed to be done at 7200 or severe driving 5400

    72k iirc.

    iv just done mine on 59k to be on the safe side.

    hardest thing i found was locking off bottom end at tdc.

    williams vts is that for a waterpump aswell????

    Waterpump is probably only about £20 extra to do.

    Just done a cambelt today, first time, on some Mazda 323f i think it was, took me an hour

    Got there in the end, felt achieved lol

    My Saxo has done 104K, the cambelt was changed at 72K about 5-6 years ago. Iv got a cambelt to swap over just wondering whether its worth replacing the tensioner too?

    Mine got done today oddly enough, 68k. book says do it at around 60k
