someone i know around my area says that if i run my vts with ph3s unmapped i could get bore wash and f**k my engine , i know a good few of you run ph3s unmapped and have no worries so is he just scaring me or what lol

Only if you run VERY ritch for a prolonged period of time. I had pt51s fitted for nearly a year unmapped. Didnt get bore wash and over the 6 or 7 years i have been lurking on these forums, i have never seen any one complain of it

Overfueling washing the thin layer of oil off of the cylinder walls, thus meaning theres no thin layer of lubrication, thus creating piston/ring/wall wear.

This is why Bores are honed/scored, so the oil almost sticks in a thin layer to the bore wall

Of course borewash can do damage in extreme circumstances, plus is the fuel gets beyond the piston ring and into the oil the oils lubrication value reduces

its a pain in the arse, i ran unmapped bike carbs for 3months and its stripped my walls now having to strip the block apart hone the bores and replace the rings

i think PH3 will be ok to run for alittle bit, but i wouldnt want to run them for too look til you get it mapped.

but should be ok for a few 100 miles.

    thanks
