Group N mounts(help with sites)

#2they stiften up the engine, so there not as much engine movment,
so yes the are postive as they will stop the engine twisting, so you dont lose as much power and torque sure other people will add to this aswell but they are a postive thing to do for a track car,

#3I found them to make the engines power delivery more direct and responsive. The downside is the rattles.
Could always go with a powerflex lower for an intermediate mod - just cheaper. -
#4Your engine does not twist.
They stop the engine moving about. This helps on acceleration by keeping the transmission in one place, helping traction from slow speeds; and deceleration by stopping additional weight transfer forward under braking and again traction.
The disadvantage is a bit more engine vibration. -
#5grp N mounts rock, period, get them.
its nice to see someone interested in real mods, not the "turbo" shit you see every day.
fuck the engine mods, and fuck the power in all honesty.
strip it, stiffen the engine mounts and the suspension bushes and you will have an amazing road/track car. -
#6wheres the best place to get group n mounts from the upper gear box one and do they do the ecu side one
-
#8After a fair bit of shopping around I found the best place for them all was;Quote:wheres the best place to get group n mounts from the upper gear box one and do they do the ecu side one
Gearbox Mount
Lower Mount
ECU Mount
Comes to Around £150. A set from one company will cost around £225 delivered
The Box one being a BakerBM, the lower mounts a Pugsport one, and the ECU one is a Vibratechnics. Cant vouch for them yet as Im literally half way through a conversion but theyre all extremely solid. Very happy with em. Cant wait to test out the results down the backroads -
#9WOH spoox havnt been selling the ECU one for long then have they? Never seen it on there n i didnt look too long ago!Quote:After a fair bit of shopping around I found the best place for them all was;

This the first mainstream GRP N ECU mount then? -
#10Yeh, I've only just seen this! Looks to be a good replacement - and means you can buy a set of Group n mounts for like £150!.
-
#11ross could you fit them ????? you be doing loads this summer ordering coilover saturday if the pay is ok....
-
#12just go to the group a semi rigid kit tbh
it doesnt vibrate that badly and i cant move my engine at all in my bay
its ace
i love them -
#13Only other one is the Pugsport one, but you need to weld in some little metal buffers.Quote:WOH spoox havnt been selling the ECU one for long then have they? Never seen it on there n i didnt look too long ago!

The Vibratechnics one is straight fit other than having to drill a 12mm hole in the mount strut. Its a very well made bit of kit. Its the only one worth getting from them though imo, the gearbox one looks similar and its a bit overkill with the box mount being so simple.
Il let you know what theyre like by the end of the week hopefully
-
#15Ive read they come off very quickly though when glued
-
#16i used liquid metal on mine and they've been rock solid for around 10k now.

If you get the kit for around £180 then you get the lot. -
#20look up aron on here hes got a full kit unused for sale iirc
-
#21GMC Motorsport will help
-
#22GMC sell both of the pugsport kits aswell as the vibra technics "fast road" kit.
Just fitted a complete set of vibra technics, a very well made bit of kit. Supposed to be slightly stiffer than group n's. Certainly wouldnt go any stiffer without seam welding the engine mounts themselves. -
#23GMC wont split their kits, which is fair enough, but they're 200 and 210 for the Vibras and the Pugsports respectively iirc. Plus postage which is £15.
So in fairness unless you want all of one set to be a brand whore the links I gave are the best
