What bits are these (vts engine)

  1. #1
Theres a few bits on my engine which i dont know what they are, some need replaceing so need to know what they are!

    Number 1:

Goes into the inlet manifold just behind the MAP sensor

    Number 2:

    Just behind the throttle body

    Number 3:

Some black box thing, which is near the ECU plug on the loom

Some connector that goes into the back of the block, its the bit that the hoses joint onto that connects to the block with 2 bolts or torxs

    zoomed in abit:

Zoomed in abit more (can see where its broken):

Any help on this would be great thankyou!

    1. Goes to the fuel tank breather - it's inside ythe inner wing.
    2. Brake vacuum servo
    3. Ignition/injector relay, it just clips under the Ecu tray.
    4. It's a connector for the bottom radiator hose and the hose from the heater matrix with the bleed nipple on the top.

Number 4 is pretty cheap from Citroen, I had to buy a new one myself.

cheers mate! big help as always!

So il need a new fuel tank breather pipe? Should be one on the westcoast engine i could use? Where abouts in the wing does it go, does it just hang there etc?

Brake Vacuum servo pipe might be fine? and obvious where it goes once the engines in?

Gonne need new matrix hoses aswell, in fact all hoses for the rad system, any chance of salvaging the lower ones and the ones joining to this houseing hose bit thats broke from my wescoast engine? or are they a different setup/size?

    - Can re-use the hose with the bleed nipple on it.
    - Can use the bottom radiator hose, bout will need to cut a bit off it where it meets the radiator depending on the width of radiator your using (1.4 vs vts)
    - Will need a vts top radiator hose and will need a new hose that goes from heater matrix back to the thermostat housing
    - The brake vacuum will be obvious - there's a connector where it joins just next to the brake fluid tank.
    - I don't think the westcoast one fits (is too short). Could get a Vts one from Citroen, or just get a bit of 6mm fuel hose and run it from the purge cannister in the wing to the inlet by the MAP. The purge cannister is of a similar size to the fuel pressure regulator - it's just up inside the drivers wing. You should have a loom plug that goes to it by the Ecu.

you can see the plug that goes to the cannister in picture number 3.

ahhh wondered what that was for, the sensor in its own yeh?

its the wires from that loom where the plug is, goes into the wing and plugs into the solenoid in there. you'll need this connected up as it vents the fuel tank.

ahh i get ya, so i guess theres a valve in the fuel tank thats controlled by the ECU from the input of this sensor?

its in the wing, that is what that plug goes to, pipe from fuel tank, to charcoal canistor then to solenoid operated by ecu.

Danny = confused, il just jam it all together n hope it works lol

whats to be confused about? haha, the valve is in the wing, that is where you need to connected your pipe and wiring.
  14. #14
Just get the engine in - it'll then be fairly evident where it all goes from there!
