Could you fit any turbo to a saxo?

    Would something like this fit?

a t25 ... dont be silly! although that would be awesome! ...
you wouldnt really want to be throwing a turbo on an automatic ... but you can pick up saxo specific turbos / super charges from places such as cituning.

    a t25 will fit
iirc landanimal is selling a mani to suit a t25 on here

    would be fun lol
  5. #5
I've heard of people fitting t25s.

Wouldn't go much bigger than that though lol.

a t25 on a saxo would be rapid, well worth a project buddy do it

it wouldnt be as simple as bolting on a mani and t25 though... anything is possible, i know of a suzuki GSXR with a T23 bolted on the bad boy! and it goes like stink! and a 33 on a busa! 400 brake in that thing!

if you could afford and have the time to make it as a project, i would say do it, it would be unreal, go like fuck and be a complete suprise. think of what cars it goes into already, MX-5,RX7, 200sx, skylines...but think about their engines...

you would have to uprate everything to run on anything bigger than 1 bar of boost.
    then again, every little helps.

how would a t25 be silly?
didnt ratty have a t4 on his?
  10. #10
i know someone whos fitted a T3, anything further then you would probably need to do some chassis changes or some real manifold work. dp engineering is always worth a look, but of course the original question or being serious when setting it up.

cant remember what turbo dean (saxmad88) has but its freaking huge
allmost as big as his flywheel

makes me wanna cry to think it was bending wishbones on the dyno

Just stick a wheely bar on the back youll be allright

    Matt.

I couldnt find deans spec but If hes making 371 atw I doubt its a small tubby
  14. #14
prob not a T series turbo. would be a GT turbo imo.

The compressor wheels out of a gt25/40 turbo are going into the housing of a gt2871rs
Although might have changed since then, as dean changed his spec midway through because people were copying him

it made 371 ATW when first mapped and was maxing out the injectors.

though it was 8 now as hes tweaked it about a tad

i dunno tbh its just retarded

So what would be an Ideal turbo for an automatic then?
  22. #22
    Something with 12volts?!

Are you genuinly looking to turbo it? Might be worth not going too big with regards to turbo as IMO it gets expensive with anything above like a T25 - forged internals etc to do it properly and reliable + might be worth future proofing yourself with regards to the spec.

Im just looking into what will be best for an auto. I am sourcing a 16v engine and then considering turbo after that.

Is there alot of restriction on an auto to turbo it like?
  24. #24
the restriction witht he autobox is how much torque it can take before you rip it appart.
  25. #25
why not convert it to manual?

iirc he has automatic because of a disability, so needs to retain the Autobox.
  27. #27
only got one arm can only drive an auto. torqu as standard is 101 lb ft
  28. #28
ah right, i would stick with a small turbo tbh, with a good spread off power.
having the turbo come on boost with a huge kick would kill the gearbox. auto boxs easy to come by 2nd hand? just incase you kill them.
  29. #29
The one on my car the 1.6 is rare but I could just use the one from a 1.4 vsr they much easier to find.
  30. #30
a lad near me has a nova thats turbo'd reallfast he says the turbo is of a pajero and he used that because it spools faster is this true? thanks
  31. #31
he's used a diesal turbo then? it spools up quicker because diesals redline at 4k, i would say he is a grade A numpty.
  32. #32
haha lol no its a 1.8 petrol engine i think its deffernetly not diesel lol i think he just talks poo lol but it is realy quick lol
  33. #33
no, i mean the engine it is off is a diesal, thats why it spools up quick, diesal turbos are completely different to petrol turbos.

Would agree. You don't want to do it cheaply or you'll end up rebuilding very often, N/A is still allways good, with TBs as well
