hi my mate has a 106 gti which hes breaking and another mate has a smashed up quicksilver so hes interested in buy my other mates gti as a rolling shell and putting his 1.4 engine, g/box, loom, interior etc in to the gti, just a quick question is this overly difficult to do say compared to just fitting a gti engine in to a gti, hes to young to be able to afford to pay the insurance on a 106 gti thats why were putting his 1.4 engine in plus hes getting the rolling shell for about £500 with all the brakes with new discs and pads and lowered bilstein suspension so its a good buy probably just as cheap as a quicksilver with a knackered engine but you get the bonus of the bilstein suspension and rear discs
quicksilver engine in a gti 106?

#2its just the came as a normal conversion man
as long as all the plugs match up it wont be too hard -
#3never ever try a conversion with a single plug engine into a 3 plug car... bad times..
Good luck though if you attempt it

#6ive just spoke to a mate hu put a 1 plug gti engine in to his gti which originally he had a 3 plug he said he used the old loom with the new engine and it ran perfectly fine as i can vouch for

#7its when you mix looms you have the problems, not engines.
insurance will still be higher than a quicksilver imo. -
#8should b fine
