Heavy braking = CLICK

  1. #1
When I have to brake heavy or lock wheels I get a large click sound from the drivers side wheel.. Did some lethal testing and they started to smoke at 1 point, also they went very unresponsive (guessing that was the heat tho)

But any idea whats causing it to click? Mate said it was CV joint but I dont know if he actually knows what hes talking about

    cheers

It sounds like locking your wheels is an everyday ocurance to you

On a serious note i dont have a clue maybe the discs and pads getting hot causing them to stick slightly?

Could be somethin like a drive shaft knocking???

you would know if its a warped disk, soon as you touch the brake you'll feel a proper vibration through the pedal.

could be something like a pad loose in the caliper?

Ah I don't get any vibration nope

It's like I push the brake pedal down 60% the breaks are spongy - then it does its click, then they will seem to go heavy I suppose taking the wheel off wouldnt hurt to have a look .. lazyness lol

MOT next thursday.. wallet bashing time I think

its possibly just the brake pads moving in the caliper.

My guess is your carbonising your pads, and some of the material is hitting something, ie stop slamming on them lol.
