I had a westy before my vtr and i only had that for a whole month i just wanted a vtr a day after i bought the westy so if ur considering the westy now id go straight for the vtr now!
  30. #30
Think youll find theres actually 4 different vtr's

    MK1 - Black Top (?Bhp?)
    MK1 - Facelift (Different Grill) - Silver Top (90BHP)

    MK2 - Silver Top (Early Models 2000-2001) (90Bhp)
    MK2 - Grey Top (98Bhp)

And on the corsa front, i had a 1.4 16v Sport and it felt like it had absoloutly zero torque in comparison with the VTR, obviously with it only being a 1.4.

    Why? Get it cammed.

Mine would be cammed if remapping 3-plugs didnt have a bad rep. Plus you have to pay extra for systems like KMS.

I dont even think the 'in fashion' Predator is available in VTR 3 plug guise?

The standard MkI exhausts are bad, change that and you should notice a difference.

There obviously will be, as the older the car, generally the cheaper it will be (although not always).

You can pick up a MK1 VTR for anything between £700-£1300 depending on condition, mileage, year etc.

You will struggle to get a decent condition Mark 2 for that most go for anything between £1500-£2500, so in effect, Yes.

Is mine a 3-plug? Why do they have a bad reputation for remaps?

Some of the VTSs havent responded well afaik. Plus like I say it is more expensive a lot of the time.
