Fitting a clutch

Anyone whos done this - is it hard to do? I looked in the Haynes manual and it looks pretty straight forward really, only bit is the lining it up with with that special tool. Is there anyway of doing it without that tool? Engines out the car aswell, so makes it a alot easier.

    cheers

It shoult not take you any more than 30-45 mins if the engine an box is out of the car..

If you got a old gear box(saxo) you could chop the shaft off an use that to line it up thats what i did..

you can use a socket or marker pen ect as a tool, you the clutch disk before you start fitting and find something thats a close fit

If its out car it will be pish m8 , they make to much of a fuss about that tool but once its apart you'll soon see its easy enough to line up unless you have 2 glass eyes. I used my finger to line it up

use a long socket. One will hold the clutch position perfectly
