cat for mot

   hellooo peeps my vtr is up for mot next month but it has been decated do i need a cat for mot i was told if it is pre 2000 it does not need one any help please.

   You will need a Cat, i take it yours is a mk2?
   
   just try and source a mk1 cat and fit it in (under Car).

   Yes you will need a cat, you can buy the new from HERE then you just need to pic up a centre pipe (if you have a full straight through pipe already)
   
   or you can push your luck and go to a scrap/breakers yard and find a saxo and use that, but no guarantee it will be in working order

   ok thanks for your help i have a mark 1 saxo so any ideas on a rough price for one/

   Try scrap yards, ebay etc am sure you can find one
   
   Then it will go under your car

   from a scrap yard no more than around £20-£30 for the cat and centre pipe...
   
   Maybe also try ebay, but i would ring around the breaker yards if yourlooking to save some cash

   If your car is tip top you dont always need a cat but i wouldnt risk it tbh

    i dont think i should chance that any excuse for the mot man to fail your car.
