bad oversteer

  1. #1
hi, had the front of my car lowered the other week and some differant alloys put on (standard vtr ones) whilst it was in the garage getting a new rear axle fitted and before i had this done the car understeered at high speeds like most front wheel drive cars. but now if i go to fast round a corner, like 40-50mph it just spins out like a bitch all the time, anyone know why this could be happening, could it be something to do with just having the front lowerd. any help appreciated as it is doing my head in driving like my nan everywhere.

    cheers.

Yes lowering the front and leaving the back at standard height will induce oversteer. If is is literally 'spinning out' you might want to drive a bit smoother....

learn to drive smoother and correctly! back shouldnt come out unless at high speed and letting off to much

i am driving smoothly, which is why i posted the thread, to see if anyone knows why...?

i did plan too but when i sent it to the garage i was having a new axle fitted at the same time and the bloke who i bought the axle off said it was already lowerd but he lied lol. so only the front struts got fitted.

iv been driving around with my torsion bars 35mm higher than my front for about 6 months, my car hasn't been written off yet. Funny that.

Strangely enough my old 205 was lowered more at the back and it was very twitchy. Seems to be the opposite of what you guys are experiencing. Maybe you have very good tyres on the front or poor ones on the back?

you'll get a good track day car if you leave it like that
