Need help with rattleing in engine

   got an 03 VTR, when am at about 2-3000rpm a can hear a horrible rattling cumin from inside my engine, sounds like something is grinding or loose, any ideas?

   Sorry just re-read your post, inside the engine? Could be tappets, worth getting a video up to have a look.

   is it a rattle or a knock? top end or bottom end?
   
   more than likely be tappets.

   its hard to find were its cumin but its a rattle/grinding, av already had a look at the tappets cause they wur knockin and sorted them out but the noise is still there, it only does it wen am driving in any gear then put my foot down noise cums in 4 about 5 seconds then goes but not every time a do it, it`ll be canny hard 2 to put a vid up like lol.

   you sure its inside the engine? exhausts and heatshields generally rattle like youve exlpained?

   I have a similar rattle. only in lower revs tho. Sounds like mine is from underneath the car!

   sometimes the cats on mk1's and early mk2s rattle, cant remember if its a cover on them or generally just that they develop a rattle

    lol av got a rattle from me exhaust aswel, saxo`s! it sounds like its cuming from the bottom end. al have a look under the car and check the heat shields n the cat.
