Engine paint

   Anyone got any opinion on heat resistant paint? i.e. is there a superior make? im after yellow by the way.

   hi if its for the rocker cover it does not need to be gheat resistant. just wet and dry it really well primer it, paint it in what ever colour and then laquare it

   it does have to be heat resistant... or it will crack... if a jobs worth doing it's worth doing well.

   If you do it properly with normal paint it wont crack.
   
   Just make sure you have a clean rust free surface that has plenty of primer on it and go over the primer with wet and dry before you apply paint.

   i would say for best results, use heat resistant paint. I sprayed my rocker on my old VTR in white hammerite and after a few months it went cream! lol.
   
   i have just done my S rockers today, come out really nice, i used a heat resistant red from euro parts, was £4.50 for a big can too

   i did mine without heat resistant paint about 9 month ago and its still fine as long as its prepared proply and sprayed proply it wont crack lol

   I was thinking of using hammerite, did you just sand them the slap it on with a brush? Or the spray can hammerite?

   im planning on restoring the natural silver to mine, going to use heat resistant paint anyway and then a bit of lacquer to make it easier to keep clean

   thanks for your help guys. think il try euro parts and get me a big can like one_nation. goin with yellow for my rocker cover. probably not to everyones taste lol
