Screws Missing On VTS Head?

  1. #1
Hi i have had my vts for 2 years now and they have never been there but thought i would ask on here now i have joined. Looking on top of the engine there are a number of Torx screws at the front however on the back corners by the inlet manifold there are holes which look like they are for screws but no screws in there.

nah, they dont have anything in. just the 1s that go through the rocker should have screws in.

ok thanks for looking at that - looking at the picture i have taken at the front of the engine, it looks like there are two dents going inwards underneath the oil cap and in the same place on the other end is this normal on this engine. What are the two prongs that stick out the front for also?

your head and rockers are perfectly normal mate.
the two prongs are where the 'fresh air pump' piping would attach to. with your car being a 2000 model its a bit of a mix between the mk1 and 3 plug ecu heads.

    its where this would go

ahh right i see thats good to hear then. nice engine bay you got there - any tips on how to not damage the seal when taking the head off for polishing? I will prob just get a new one from citroen as i think this could be causing a small leak somewhere though!

i wish it looked like that now!!!!

seal is hard rubber so shouldnt damage too easy.

Just be careful as you can't buy the seals from Citroen you will have to buy a whole new cover

ouch dont want to do that - how much roughly would that cost?

you can use gasket seal instead mate if it was to be damaged so dont worry to much, i did mine before and never had any problems
