Painting Alloys

Just wondering what you need and what you need to do to paint your alloys, is it possible to paint alloys in chrome???????

You need sand paper, wet and dry paper (both of which in progessivly finer grades), primer, paint, laquer.

Wash the wheels throughly. If I was gonna paint my wheel's (which I will be) I'd get the tyre's taken off as it saves masking up.

After giving them the best wash they've ever had, get to work on sanding them down. Start with a rough grade and get progressivly finer. Once happy, give them another good wash and dry. Add your first coat of primer and leave to dry. Add 2-3 coats altogether. Leave to dry for 24 hrs after the last coat, or whenever your confident its dry.

REMEMBER - the more time you take on ensuring it's perfect means better results!

When primer has dried, Add another 2-3 coats of your chosen paint. Allow them to dry just you allowed the primer to dry.

Once dry, add as many coats of LAQUER as you like. This is dependant on the look you want as lots of coats will give a deeper final shine than one coat.

Leave for a few days to fully harden, re-fit wheels, step back and admire.

EDIT - For Chroming I'd imagine that'll have to be done by a pro as iirc it requires dipping in the actual Chrome compound, or just polished up REALLY well.
