So do they strip the old fabric off the door cards and apply the new leather back on? or do they sell you the colour you want for £4 a metre? with no fitting?

    thanks

Ok sweet, how do you go about stripping it and then putting it back on? cause where the fabric is, the card is slightly curved isnt it! so it would be abit hard to get it to fit nicely, surely? unless theres some kind of glue you use to get it to stick round the curves etc??

    thanks again

tbh mate i tried this myself and it want horribly wrong.

its hard to do yourself regardless of what anyone says.

if you want to get rid of the shitty zebra pattern just get some plain black doorcards or some 1.1 desire cards or some 106 gti cards.

or if you want the blue to match your seats get it done by a pro unless you are very confident that you not going to get any creases in the fabric

Lol ok then mate, well do the door cards just pop out then? i havnt had it apart yet so i wouldnt know?

So do you use some kind of fabric glue to stick down the new fabric onto the door card? or do you just stretch and stretch lol

    cheers

you use a spray glue to stick the new fabric down.

    to take your cards off.

    1. un screw the two torx screws one in the handle recess the other by the door hinge.
    2. try to get your hands behind the card and pull it evenly all around untill it pops off.

if youdont pull it evenly you may snap some of the plastic clips that are holding it on.
(but it doesnt really mater if you do)

then once its off you have to seperate the pastic outer bit from the inner fabric of the card which means drilling out all the plastic rivits that hold the two together.
then once you have the center fabric piece of the door card off you can stick your new fabric down (which is the really hard part)
if all goes well then you have to glue your two pieces of the door card back together
(as the plastic rivits have been drilled out)
then put your doorcard back on.

trust me its a massive ball ache

Lol you like the word ball ache dont you haha! saw you posted BALL ACHE in a few of your other posts lol

Thanks for the big right up mate, i done the seats on my motorbike which wasnt to bad as you just pull the leather tight and then staple. this does sound like abit of a harder job though lol

whats this glue like then? does it set real quick so its hard to stretch out and keep the creases away or does it set real slow and shit so the fabric keeps popping up?

thanks again for the write up mate, shall probs get started this weekend if i can get all the stuff, rather that than going shopping with the missus haha

    cheers ryan

my glue set really slow, but depends on what glue you use.

if youve had experience it shouldnt be to much of a ball ache
