gearbox???

    ive got a 2001 vtr my mate told me that if i fit a vts box 2 it ill get better acceleration?? hes got the box as he owns a yard or if not would a ax gt box be better? or is vtr box my choice?

    yes vts has shorter ratios so will give you better acelleration butlower top end
    not sure about the ax box

    yes vts will fit and will give better acceleration due to shorter ratios. not sure about the ax box tbh.

    cheers is it easy 2 fit a a vts box 2 a vtr or shud i take it sumwhere the only gearbox ive ever changed is on a mk2 fiesta lol

    all boxs are the same on ax/saxo etc, the ax GT box unless its from a mk2 box will be crap as they changed the design from 1991.

    Best to get the 1.1 or VTS box.

    Ratty thats crawl! can you imagine the revs at 70mhp down the motorway if he has a 1.1 box in!! the thing would do more fuel than a GT40!! LMBO! © sax-p

    mines ba enough! sitting at 70mph with 4k on the rev counter! in 5th!!

    why would it drink more fuel the ratios are nearlky identical. at 3500 on both boxes in fifht on the 1.1 your doing ~68mp and on the vts box ~69mph.

    will the difference in acceleration b that noticible and am i gonna loose top end speed much??? dnt really need the top end speed tho id prefer all the grunt lower down off islands etc..
