#3sounds like i could have just been filed and it may have sank, or just done very poorly. better to get another tailgate and start again if im honest, weld a plate in there and build on top of that with fibreglass and neeten with filler. cheers

#4You did weld a plate about 5mm inside the number plate section?? if not then it has most probs sank and if you ever slam the boot shut i would say it will most deffo crack!Quote:rite now iv already filled the number plate recces out but it is kinda flat, im wondering if i start building from the to curves on the boot to the middle would that bringg it out the way i need it? because were i have filled it out it is relly flat so if some one could help me that would be fine, sorry about the discription because it is relly hard to explain lol

If you did put a plate in, when me and me dad done mine we went out and brought some proper flexible sanding blocks which were also really long, then we built the filler up on top of the welded plate so it higher than normal and then sanded it down with the long flexy block till we were happy and then used THINER filler to fill the cracks etc from the thick filler and kept sanding with wet and dry till it had a nice curve going round, but if yours is already flat then hmmmm...lol you gunna need to build it out with filler but theres no saying it going to stay ontop of already set filler lol will probs just break off mate
think i agree with matey who said you might wunna start again?
