#2There is a place called PJ tyres next to Condercum road in Benwell that it'll fix it for less than a tenner.
Or there is a similar place next door to Bass mechanix

#9It's either in the sidewall or it isn't in my experience...
Kwik fit are c£nts tho so even if they were right i wouldn't believe them!
EDIT- Looks close to the side but i reckon is still okies to fix, go see a proper back street tyre place, not a branded place like kwikfit -

#15Get it pluged and patched at a back street garage.. I allways used to do it with my scooter tyres lol

#16Having been an MOT tester in a previous life, I can tell you that a repair on that screw is illegal - it is too close to the sidewall. In theory no-one should repair it.
Reason being that the tyre flexes more toward the sidewalls so any plug can potentially come loose and blow out.
If you do get someone to plug it, don't drive like a idiot and the MOT tester is not on the ball, you should be o.k. -
#17How far in is totally fine? i've had a few repairs in the past but none that far out mainly bang in the middle pretty muchQuote:Having been an MOT tester in a previous life, I can tell you that a repair on that screw is illegal - it is too close to the sidewall. #19The official rule is "centre 3/4" is o.k. to repair, but as every tyre is different who is to say where the centre 3/4 is?

#20well it turned out two garages in birtley wouldnt fix it so ive ordered another off ebay for 47 delivered which aint bad. have to be extra paranoid about screws now!

#21I've been to Birtley boxing club before and my mate fights for them as an amateur.

#23at our garage we would not repair that as the plug that repairs the whole would not totally be on a flat surface inside the tyre so it wouldnt seal perfectly.
it may be possible to do but may not last very long as that part of the tyre gets a lot of force on it. there is no gaurantee that it would last and it could be dangerous if it failed and a garage may be taken to court so its not worth the hassle -
#24aye, i was gonna fix it and then though a kit to fix three holes would cost about 10 quid each so an extra 10 bought a new tyre. no worth the riskQuote:at our garage we would not repair that as the plug that repairs the whole would not totally be on a flat surface inside the tyre so it wouldnt seal perfectly.

#25i would definately recommend a new tyre, when i first got this saxo i put four new tyres on it and within a month three of them had to be replaced due to them being punchured in a similar place to yours. basically i wouldnt even do it on my car as i dont trust repairs close to the sidewall as ive seen many fail. i see you have a vts so with it been more powerful than most saxos i wouldnt trust it at all, i dont
