Dont have the money to get a piper or supersprint one

Dont mind if it only does me a year or two

the one on ebay looks like you'll have problems with the mk2 oil filter setup, if you dont mind changing to a mk1 setup then get a janspeed

janspeeds arent that bad tbh have a look on kam.

It just the right hand pipe where the oil filter is on the mk2 seems to come out quite wide so would clash with the filter and housing

    ill get pics

edit: If you look here at the mani then at the pic of my engine bay with the oil filter which is black it looks asif they would clash

£259 aint bad, wont need the cat though
  11. #11
Janspeed are mild steel, but will still last a few years if you get the right coating for it

I reccomend either Raceland or if you can stretch then a Supersprint mate.

  22. #22

  23. #23
    Agreed with piper
  24. #24
So the 4-1 is better than the 4-2-1?

You are right, just received response from the seller, what can i get without moving the oil filter that will fit my car that is good?
  27. #27
If your car is for road use id recommend a 4-2-1 over a 4-1, imo ofcourse

Then you should look at a 4-2-1 design as it helps aid the power delivery in a more useable range for road use

    What about this one?

Thats a janspeed with the sport cat encorporated. I had a miltek manifold on my vtr with the sport cat (basically the same design as the janspeed) and loved mine, so id say its fine!

So where does the cat go?

Is that one a 4-2-1, sorry for all the newbie questions
  33. #33
For the later MK2 VTR, I'd go for the Piper 4-1 or the Janspeed with sports CAT - both seem to fit really well and offer awesome gains.

The cat is the fat bit where the four pipes go into, technically its a 4-1 but like i said i had one on my vtr a couldnt complain.

Might just get that one then

From the looks of the last few posts im assuming that you've ruled out the Raceland one.

Just incase you are tempted by its cheapness please be aware that as you have a MK2 you WILL have to relocate the oil filter and get the oil pressure sensor changed. This will set you back a further £30 in parts and if you're not confident enough to tap a hole in your block and reconnect a plug you'll have to pay some labour costs too

So Raceland doesnt work out so cheap in the end.

For the VTR id fully recommend the supersprint one as by all accounts theyre a straight fit, long lasting and very good value for money really

Think i will be buying it 2moro

Need a few kits for it aswell

If i buy the supersprint centre section, will i just need the gasket and exhaust kits cause it says something about buying another kit if buying the race one but not sure if that applys to the normal centre section
  49. #49
    Any help much appreciated
  50. #50
yeah you'll need the larger gasket (or just modify your original one) as the supersrint diameter is larger
