Clutch noise?

   When my car is idle there is a noise coming from the engine bay (I think that it's the clutch) When I depress the clutch the noise goes. Any ideas?

   yep thats the problem just had my clutch changed

   So a whole new clutch is the only way then?

   no they said to me they could just change the bearing but they might aswell change the whole clutch. but i cant tell you how much this will cost as mine was covered by the garges warrenty

   Release bearing, my Fiesta has this, its a common problem with them aparrently although i suspect it isnt so common with spaxos

   you dont need to replace the whole clutch but if your having to do the thrust bearing it makes sense to replace the clutch as it isnt cheap to change either but you need box off for both, where do you live mate?

    my saxo vtr makes that noise aswell wen u av the clutch in the noise goes

    90% of the time its the release bearing that you buy as part of a clutch kit, however, there is also a chance its the actual box thats worn.
