best way to remove engine?

what the best wat to remove my engine? iv got an engine crane, big jack and big axel stands but just not sure of the best way to do it.
do lift it at an angle and pull it to he side so the box clears the battery plate.
drop it down and remove the gearbox so the block lifts straight through the engine bay.
jack the car as high as i can and slide the engine out from underneath??
the way i did it last time is drop the engine on the floor and use the engine crane to lift the front of the car right up and slid the engine out.
    Thanks in advance

I do it by takeing the box off first then lift the block out with the crane..

Undo all mounts and cables etc...

Either drop engine down and lift shell over, or get engine off mounts, get gearbox lower to clear mount, twist/lean engine and lift.

Ive had two engines out on my own with boxes still on its easy! I really wouldnt fuck about taking the box off.

i think its easier to jus lift shell over the engine once its dropped, dont even need a crane,

Removing the box is a complete arseache though, dont see whats so difficult about twisting the engine when on the crane tbh?

best way is drop it down and lift shell whilst sliding engine out. If it has power steering the pump get its in the way if you were planning on taking it up and out.
