my interior progress today - led dash, centre console sprayed

    thought i would post a thread showing what i have done today, colour coded/ish (bit off colour) my centre console and side vents not in yet not sure if it will be too much? put blue leds in my dash which i thought was a bitch to do but others may find easy, chrome rings round dials, next on the list turn dash buttons to blue leds aswell new door cards let us know what you think.

    were do you get the bulbs from to do this to youre dash the rings aswel i have been trying to find the leds for weeks now

    everything was bought from ebay rings just type in saxo dials and they should come up bit pricey tho and the bulbs type into ebay smd plcc2 blue leds they should be there! thanks for good comments guys

    i tried maplins and halfords but they didnt uave a clue what i was on about but your local maplins may be different

    it is just standard vts dash and i soldered new blue led bulbs to it, hard to fit erm, some say its easy but i found it quite hard im not too technically minded tho!

    how easy was it to get the trim off the dash ??

    im considering doing the same but mines will be going white

    and with this you give it a sanding down, primer then paint? or what?

    like i said was quite hard you have to take all steering wheel off then get past the airbag ring few more screws and then you can get to the trim you may find it easy but i aint too good with thing like this lol i used a very fine wet and dry sand paper just to scuff the plastic abit then added plastic primer 3/4 coats time for the paint then just used out of the tin halfords paint left to dry for few days going to fit it tomorrow hope this helps

    aye im not going to bother with the LED bit too much hassle for me

    but the vent covers and centre dash surround will be coming out at some point and getting sprayed white

    just wanted to know how easy it would be to get them off as i had a wee look last night and didny noo too bad appart from having to disconnect the stereo and the fan switch
